RIDGWAY – Concerned by what they term the “backslidden state of America”, some area Christians are turning to God and prayer for answers. Over 25 different churches from various denominations will hold prayer rallies at the Elk, Clearfield, and Jefferson County Courthouses in May.
The meetings are part of a strategic plan that several local Pastors and leaders have been working on together since July of 2007. Called “Jesus Power Explosion”, the plan combines prayer, evangelism and discipleship to help change communities. The prayer phase of the strategy is now in full swing.
A County-Wide prayer meeting has been organized for each of Elk, Clearfield and Jefferson counties. The plan calls for area Christians of all ages to gather for an hour of instruction. Then after dividing into 3-5 person prayer teams, each team will be sent on a “prayer journey” to a “spiritually significant” site somewhere within the county. After the teams complete their assigned prayer journey, they will all meet for a rally at the county court house.
