JOHNSONBURG – A fire destroyed an apartment building after it ignited at 11:50 a.m. Friday at 503 Penn St. in Johnsonburg Borough, according to the Ridgway-based state police.
The apartment building was owned by Bradley Hauber of St. Marys. The fire originated in the apartment where Tyler Magnusson and Barb Dilley of Johnsonburg resided with two children.
The building contained a total of four apartment units, and two additional families were displaced as a result of the fire, state police said.
The apartment building was a total loss. Damage has been estimated at $300,000, state police said. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal and the Johnsonburg fire and police departments investigated the origin and cause of the fire. The fire destroyed a two-story, wooden-framed apartment building.
The fire originated within a first-floor kitchen near a gas range in the Magnusson/Dilley apartment. The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time, state police said.
The Crystal, Ridgway, Wilcox and Fox Township fire departments assisted at the scene.
