CLEARFIELD – A 32-year-old Clearfield woman is facing drug charges, according to Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. He identified the defendant as Brianna Wood-Kifer, 32, of the Clearfield – Woodland Highway, Clearfield.
On Feb. 21, Agent Jonathan Vesnesky of the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General, Bureau of Narcotics Investigation, filed a criminal complaint, charging Wood-Kifer with possession with the intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility.
An affidavit of probable cause filed with the complaint provides that in February, the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General and the Clearfield County Drug Task Force, began an investigation into the sale of narcotics from a residence in Clearfield. On Feb. 13, an undercover agent purchased $100 worth of cocaine from Wood-Kifer inside her residence on the Clearfield – Woodland Highway.
Additional purchases of controlled substances were arranged with Wood-Kifer via text messages on her cellular telephone. The affidavit further alleges that on Feb. 19, an undercover agent purchased $100 worth of cocaine and ecstasy/MDMA from Wood-Kifer inside her residence.
The defendant was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Jerome M. Nevling, and her bail was established at $50,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 27.
Shaw stated that a search warrant was executed on Wood-Kifer’s residence, and additional charges are anticipated in the near future. He also noted that children, a 3-year-old and 10-year-old, were inside the residence when the search warrant was executed and Wood-Kifer was taken into custody. Shaw stated that the children were placed in protective custody by officers from Clearfield County Children, Youth & Family Services.
Shaw reported that local drug investigations are ongoing, and there isn’t a drug dealer who is safe from prosecution. He stated, “We receive tips on a regular basis reporting illegal drug activity, and it is safe to say that we know who the drug dealers are and that we are doing our very best to prosecute them.”
Shaw stated that this particular drug investigation is ongoing and future arrests are anticipated. He noted that they received tips about this particular situation, which enabled officers to conduct a comprehensive investigation and file criminal charges.
Shaw stated that he was proud of the officers who are working on the case. He stated, “These fine officers dedicated countless hours to surveillance and investigation and it worked.”
Shaw thanked Attorney General Kathleen Kane and the Attorney General’s Office, along with officers from the Clearfield County Drug Task Force for their assistance with this case. Shaw also thanked officers from Clearfield County CYFS for their quick response and assistance in handling a difficult situation.
