Lerena V. Haag, 92, of Milton, formerly of Grampian, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013 at the Kramm Nursing Home, Milton.
She was born May 15, 1920 in Gypsy, a daughter of the late Alexander and Nancy (McCracken) Wassam.
Mrs. Haag retired in 1983 from Shop Vac, Williamsport. She had been previously employed at Cobblers Shoe Factory, Williamsport, Dumont Airplane and Marine Co., Hyde and Kent’s Sportswear, Curwensville.
She was a member of the Oval United Methodist Church, Oval.
She is survived by three children, Mary Jane Bennett and her husband, Gilbert of Milton, Darlene Y. Smith and her husband, Charles of Falls Creek and Lawrence E. Haag and his wife, Dale of Berwick; 10 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and numerous great great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Linda Haag of Williamsport.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Meirl Lawrence Haag on Dec. 24, 1975 and whom she wed Dec. 8, 1934 in Grampian; a daughter, Helen E. Seaburn; a grandson and great grandson; a son-in-law, Donald Diehl; three sisters, Annie E. Wassam, Linnie L. Patrick and Viola B. Shephard; and six brothers, Clarence, Eugene, Leonard, Robert, William and Floyd Wassam.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville, with Pastor Wanda Minnick and Pastor Roger McGary, Mrs. Haag’s great-grandson, co-officiating. Burial will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. – 1 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
