Minor injuries were reported after a two-vehicle accident at 2:37 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of East Presqueisle and North Ninth streets in Philipsburg Borough. Ariel E. Welch-Selfridge, 24, of Clearfield was traveling eastbound, while a vehicle operated by Suzanne N. Willis, 66, of Philipsburg was stopped on East Presqueisle Street and waiting to turn left onto North Ninth Street.
The Welch-Selfridge vehicle approached that of Willis and attempted to stop. However, her foot slipped from the brake pedal, and her vehicle rear-ended that of Willis.
Welch-Selfridge sustained minor injuries and was transported to the Mount Nittany Medical Center via Moshannon Valley Emergency Medical Services. Willis wasn’t injured; she was wearing her seatbelt. It’s not known if Welch-Selfridge was wearing her seatbelt; she’ll be cited for driving vehicle at safe speed.
