Edward Orwick, 61, of Morrisdale died Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 at the Orwick Farm in Kylertown. Born Sept. 28, 1951 in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late Roscoe H. and Francis (McClellan) Orwick of Philipsburg.
Mr. Orwick was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Osceola Mills, the Altoona Jaffa Shrine, the Shriners Mounted Patrol and the Royal Order of Jesters.
He was a board member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau. He was a lifetime member of Tom Mix Rangers, Sinnemahoning. He had the largest herd of Texas Longhorn cattle on the East Coast.
He married Maxine Fenush Orwick on Dec. 31, 1974 in Lanse. She survives in Morrisdale.
Mr. Orwick is survived by one daughter, Dawn Orwick Franzen of Barto and two sons, Edward Shank and his wife, Alison of Harrisburg and Chad Orwick of Morrisdale.
Surviving are two sisters, Jane Green and her husband, George of Claremont, FL and Susan Denochick of Allport; two brothers, John R. Orwick of Allport and Alfred Orwick and his wife, Tonya of Beech Creek; three grandchildren, Aaliyah Shank of Harrisburg and Luke and Alan Cantolina of Lecontes Mills; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Gethsemane United Methodist Church with the Rev. Heather Baker-McAllister and Pastor Matt Mitchell co-officiating. Burial will be in the Allport Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the church. A Masonic Service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday by the Osceola Mills Masonic Lodge #515.
