Melva B. McKenrick, 74, of Clearfield died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born April 2, 1938, the daughter of James H. and Dorothy (Lippert) Carson.
She was a homemaker and a caregiver for the elderly. She was a member of the Kerr Addition United Methodist Church.
She’s survived by a daughter and two sons, Diane Evans, of Weedville and James J. McKenrick and Russell L. McKenrick, both of Clearfield.
Also surviving are five grandchildren, Curtis Evans, Nichole Leigey, Michelle Alford, Mason McKenrick and Meagan McKenrick; two great-grandchildren, Chesney Boal and Julie Alford; two sisters, Elsie Crandell, of Clearfield and Phyllis Anderson, of Punxsutawney.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Augustus J. McKenrick, who died March 12, 1989; five brothers, Dick Hewitt, Roy Carson,
Clarence Carson, Howard Lippert and Kenneth Lippert; and seven sisters, Marie
Schucker, Mildred Clark, Anna Houston, Alberta West, Lucy Welch, Thelma Guelich and Gladys Becker.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc. with the Rev. Mark Brower officiating. Burial will be in the Greenville Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of the services Friday at the funeral home.
