Richard A. “Barney” Barnett, 55, of Philipsburg died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 at his home.
Mr. Barnett was born Dec. 03, 1956 to Ronald and Betsy (Dunsmore) Barnett, who survive of Philipsburg. He married the former Gabriel “Gabi” Berdel on Sept. 12, 2003 in Rehoboth Beach, DE. She survives him at home.
He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks #1173 in Philipsburg. He had been employed as a FedEx courier for the past 17 years and was a 1975 graduate of the Philipsburg–Osceola High School.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and an uncle, David “Bird” Dunsmore.
In addition to his wife and parents, he’s survived by two daughters, Corissa Plazarin and her husband, Richard of Belleview, FL and Alyssa Raffetto and her husband, Daniel of Boalsburg; a son, Ryan Barnett of State College; and a sister, Lisa McCamley and her husband, Tim of Philipsburg. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Emilee Plazarin of Belleview, FL and two nephews, Matt and Kurk McCamley, both of Philipsburg.
A memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. Monday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home in Philipsburg, with the Rev. William R. Fowler officiating.
Friends will be received from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. and from 5 p.m. until the hour of services Monday at the funeral home.
A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Elks Country Club in Philipsburg.

Mr. Barnett was special to his family and his many friends. Greatly missed will be his smile, enthusiasm, sense of humor and friendly greetings for everyone.
