Edward J. Domanick, 82 of Clearfield died on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
He was born Feb. 25, 1930 in Houtzdale, a son of the late George and Gladys (Archer) Domanick.
Mr. Domanick was employed as a lumber jack and also in the construction business.
He was a former featherweight boxing champion.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen M. (Dixon) Domanick, whom he wed Dec. 22, 1979 in Ashland; a daughter, Holly Jackson and her husband, Leon of Philipsburg; and a granddaughter, Anamaria Jackson, who was his pride and joy.
Also surviving are four sisters and a brother, Dorothy Sheaffer of Carlisle; Peg Shimmel of Wallaceton; Shirley Botwright and her husband, William of California; Beverly Beck and her husband, Roy of Port Matilda; Gloria Ranker of York; and a brother, Donald Domanick and his wife, Eileen of Philipsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother, Georgia Hilliard, Helen Phillips, Ruth Quick and Tom Domanick.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with the Rev. Kenneth J. Leonard officiating. Burial will be in the Reidy Cemetery.
Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Posts Honor Guard.
Friends will be received from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
