CLEARFIELD — Courtney Smith, a senior at the Clearfield High School recently organized a 5k walk/run with a ½ mile Kid’s Fun Run. There were over 60 runners and walkers in the 5k event, while approximately 15 students participated in the fun run. For the first year, the event was a success and will go a long way in helping benefit the students in the track and cross country programs.
The winners of the event were Jonathan Sponsler of Clearfield with a time of 18:52, while Gwenn Porter, also of Clearfield won the women’s division with a time of 20:11. Awards were given in each age group and can be seen in the results listed below. We are looking forward to hosting this event again and hope that participation continues to grow.
