CLEARFIELD – A 35-year-old Luthersburg woman, Lindsay Sue McClure, is facing charges for six Treasure Lake burglaries, according to Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr.
Yesterday, Sgt. Rodney Fairman of the Sandy Township Police Department filed a criminal complaint, charging McClure with burglary, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking or disposition and resisting arrest.
The criminal complaint states that in August and September, the Sandy Township police received reports of several burglaries and thefts from condominiums in Silverwoods at Treasure Lake. Additionally, it was reported that a money bag had been stolen from the housekeeping headquarters owned by Crown Resorts, Wolf Run Manor, Treasure Lake. Approximately $1,500 worth of U.S. currency and electronics had been unlawfully removed from the various locations.
On Oct. 15 and Monday, the Sandy Township police conducted undercover sting operations using video surveillance equipment in order to apprehend McClure. Officers left luggage in condominiums at Wolf Run Manor, which had been equipped with hidden video cameras. Video surveillance showed McClure unlawfully removing U.S. currency from the luggage on each occasion.
Yesterday, Sandy Township police located McClure in a condominium in Wolf Run Manor. At that time, McClure became aggressive and resisted being arrested. After a brief struggle, McClure was apprehended and taken into custody.
McClure was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Richard A. Ireland, and her bail was set at $50,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 2. McClure is currently incarcerated in the Clearfield County Jail.
Shaw stated that he was pleased with the investigative efforts made by the Sandy Township Police Department in this matter.
