UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Lady Lion basketball team will kickoff its Pink Zone at Penn State fundraising campaign with a Hoop Shoot prior to the Penn State-Northwestern football game. The Hoop Shoot, which will be located outside of the All Sports Museum (near gate B), will take place from 9-11 a.m. Members of the Lady Lions will be on hand from 10-11 a.m.
The Hoop Shoot gives fans the opportunity to shoot one free throw for $1 or shoot six free throws for $5. With a made shot, fans will win a prize and will be registered to win the grand prize of box seats for an iPad. All funds raised on Saturday will go directly to the Pink Zone fundraising efforts.
The Lady Lions will also participate in Tailgreat at the Bryce Jordan Center from 9:45-10 a.m. The team will present a check to the beneficiaries of the 2012 Pink Zone at Penn State.
Additionally, on Sunday, the Lady Lions will be signing autographs at halftime of the Penn State-California field hockey game as part of their Pink Zone game. The field hockey game will take place at 11 a.m.
The 2013 Pink Zone at Penn State will take place on Sunday, Feb. 24 as the Lady Lions take on Michigan in the Bryce Jordan Center. Last year, the Lady Lions donated a record $203,000 to breast cancer causes. This year’s fundraising efforts will benefit the Mount Nittany Medical Center, Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute, Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, J.C. Lady Lion Basketball season tickets are available by calling 800-NITTANY. Season tickets are $99 for adults, including a season parking pass (a $75 value), and $50 for youth (12 and under), this includes a Nittany Lion Kids Club Membership for 2012-13. The PNC Flex Books are available again this year for $99. The Flex Book gives fans 12 vouchers, 10 that can be redeemed in any combination for Nittany Lion and Lady Lion Basketball tickets throughout the year and two extra vouchers for the Nittany Lions’ Coaches vs. Cancer game and the Lady Lions’ Pink Zone game.
