The Last Word
Rusty: “Central is pretty fired up with their 2-0 start, and I look for a decent crowd at the Bison Sports Complex, but the Dragons should lose their fire and the game…The Tide will get win number one of Coach Evanko’s next milestone against the Hubbers…I’m going to stick to my “no PSU pick” rule until I’m wrong – they are getting better, but the schedule is getting tougher…The Steelers at home should win, but that one could go either way…And I apologize to you Peyton fans for my comments last week – he’s back, and with the Bronco defense playing well, should make it 2-0 this week.”
Dustin: “Pittsburgh better be careful as the Jets offense finally got some life, so the defense needs to get back on track. Locally, Clearfield better be ready because Central shut down Tyrone last week, a program that has always been strong. Hopefully this time it doesn’t end at 11:30 at night, like last week did.”
Dave: “Clearfield-Central could be the game of the year for the Bison – at least until November. Penn State NEEDS this win, if they blow this game 2-10 is a possibility this year. The games this week are also must-win for the Steelers and Saints – I feel more confident about Pittsburgh than I do about New Orleans, but I think both will win. We will get a better sense of just how good the Ravens are this week – if they demolish the Eagles like they handled the Bengals, then they are a lot better than I expected. Everyone is already on the Broncos bandwagon – I think Atlanta will thin that crowd a bit.”
Chris: “Penn State should break into the win column this week. If the Nittany Lions can’t beat Navy, they have major problems and could be looking at a two- or three-win season. As for the Steelers, we knew the deck was stacked against them in Week One. The Steelers’ defense has to get better this week. The Jets present a challenge, but I like their chances at home.”
Jay: “Clfd-Central game always seems to be a barnburner and with both teams at 2-0 is a toss-up, but I’ll go with the home team and proven winner here. I think PSU can comeback after that debacle at VA last week – they better because wins will be hard to come by later. NFL – just leaned with the home teams in games I wasn’t sure about, except for the Broncos. For Peyton, there’s no place like dome, no place like dome…”
