Sandusky’s Sentencing could be Delayed
STATE COLLEGE – Convicted pedophile Jerry Sandusky’s attorney told WJAC-TV during an exclusive sit-down interview that his client’s sentencing date could be delayed and an adopted son who levied accusations amid the trial against his father and former Penn State assistant coach could be in hot water.
Sandusky’s Attorney Joe Amendola said that his client’s adopted son, Matt told authorities that he was never abused by his father when the Attorney General’s office launched its investigation. However, he said the son changed his story after listening to the first day of testimony.
“He actually not only sat with the Sandusky family the first day of trial, but also actually commented negatively on the testimony,” said Amendola. “I believe it may have been (Victim) 4 on the first day of testimony. (Matt said) about how ridiculous the testimony was and he didn’t believe that his father had abused any of these men when they were kids.”
Amendola told WJAC-TV new revelations have surfaced since the fallout from the trial.
“We’ve recently come into information that Matt may have committed certain acts, which have really disappointed Dottie and Jerry and which I don’t want to discuss right now, because they haven’t decided how they want to handle it,” said Amendola. “It could be a rather serious matter for them.”
Sandusky is still incarcerated in isolation at the Centre County Jail. His sentencing was expected to be in late September for his conviction of 45 counts of child sex abuse. But it could be delayed until next month, according to Amendola.
