Delores Jeanne Yocum 87, of Clearfield died Friday Aug. 24, 2012 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness.
Born Nov. 17, 1924 in Juniata, she was the daughter of Earl and Sadie (Snyder) Richards. She had been employed at Kurtz Bros. in Clearfield for more than 20 years. Â
She was affiliated with the Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was active in the choir. She also served at past president of the Clearfield Christian Women’s Group.
She is survived by step-children, Cathy Doremus and her husband, Daniel of Lititz, Robert Yocum of Harrisburg, Dennis Yocum and his wife, Carol of Mr. Airy, MD and David Yocum and his wife, Connie of Clearfield; a sister, Sarah Hazelton of Hollywood, FL; numerous step-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David E. Yocum; and sisters, Violet McGarvey, Frances Lang, Betty Hollabaugh and Earlene Richards.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Altoona Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Altoona with the Rev. Tim McGarvey officiating. Burial will be held in the Fairview Cemetery in Altoona.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
