UNIVERSITY PARK— Penn State University was slapped with a lawsuit Friday from one of Jerry Sandusky’s victims.
Many victim advocate groups said Penn State risked its reputation and economic interests instead of protecting the children who were preyed on by Sandusky.
A young man who is known as Victim1 in court paperwork and at the trial is suing Penn State. Victim 1 said top officials deliberately decided not to report Sandusky to authorities and put the safety of children at risk.
Sandusky is awaiting his sentencing after being convicted in June on 45 counts of sexual abuse.
The university had no comment.
