UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State women’s lacrosse team was named an Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Academic Squad, it was announced this week.
In all, 42 schools that earned a cumulative team grade-point average of at least 3.0 were honored as an IWLCA Academic Squad for the 2012 season. Penn State was also one of 11 NCAA tournament teams from a year ago to accomplish the feat.
In addition to their team accomplishment, 18 Nittany Lions were placed on the ALC Academic Honor Roll for the 2011-12 academic year. Student-athletes who maintained a grade-point average of 3.0 or better during the 2011-12 school year were eligible for the Honor Roll.
