CLEARFIELD – A month-long detour has been lifted, and motorists in Morris Township, Clearfield County, are able to drive on a smoother and safer newly built bridge deck. PennDOT announced today that work on a Route 2035, Hardscrabble Road, bridge wrapped up this week.
The bridge, which was built in 1936, had been closed since July 10. PennDOT’s Clearfield County Maintenance removed and replaced the bridge deck, carried out a joint repair project and placed concrete rails. A crew will return to the area in the future to complete guiderail updates. PennDOT expects few traffic impacts when the guiderail work is being carried out.
The structure, built in 1936, spans a tributary of Moshannon Creek between the villages of Munson and Winburne. It is 19 feet long and carries an average of more than 850 vehicles per day.
Drivers are reminded to obey posted speed limits and always buckle up.
