CLEARFIELD – The preliminary hearing was continued for a 19-year-old Curwensville man who has been accused of assaulting a pregnant woman during centralized court Wednesday at the Clearfield County Jail.
Dylan J. Pollick, 19, of Curwensville is facing charges of simple assault and harassment. His bail has been set at $25,000 unsecured.
According to affidavit of probable cause, at 12:05 a.m. Aug. 7, the Clearfield-based state police were dispatched to a domestic dispute in Curwensville Borough. The 22-year-old victim told police she and her boyfriend, Pollick, engaged in an argument.
During the argument, Pollick allegedly grabbed her by the arms and threw her to the ground. Afterward, he allegedly jumped on top of her.
She sustained a bruised arm and experienced stomach pain, because Pollick allegedly kneed her. She told police she was approximately three months pregnant and Pollick was the father of the baby.
The woman told police Pollick fled the residence once he realized she’d contacted them. She was transported to the Clearfield Hospital via ambulance for a medical evaluation.
Pollick met with state police at approximately 1 a.m. Aug. 7 at the residence. He was apprehended for the assault. He claimed he was defending himself because the woman was assaulting him.
Pollick also had his preliminary hearing continued Aug. 15, in addition to Wednesday. His preliminary hearing has been rescheduled for 11:45 a.m. Oct. 24, according to court documents.
