Ann S. Gill, 78 of Clearfield died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Born Dec. 3, 1933, she was the daughter of Cleo and Catherine (James) Shaffer.
Mrs. Gill had been employed at the former Brody’s and Clearfield Furs.
She was a member of Pine Grove Bethel Church, where she had served as an elder and a deacon of the church.
Mrs. Gill was also a member of NON and the Clearfield-Curwensville Country Club.Â
She enjoyed skiing, playing golf and reading. Most of all, she enjoyed her family time.
On Sept. 19, 1953, she married Lee H. Gill, who survives. Also surviving are two children, Leanne Peters and her husband, Robert and Michael Gill and his wife Joan, all of Clearfield; two grandchildren, Andrew Peters and his wife, Diana of Lewisburg and Adrianne Peters of Clearfield; two step-grandchildren, Rob Billotte and his wife, Abby of New Millport and Chad Billotte and his wife, Maggie of Clearfield; one sister, Manon Duck and her husband, Eugene of Elizabethtown, two nieces, a nephew and many cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of Mrs. Gill’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Pine Grove Bethel Church with the Rev. K. Joy Kaufmann officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Bethel Church Cemetery. Â
Friends will be received from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc. and from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Thursday at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Mountain Top Larger Parish Deacon’s Scholarship Fund, 314 West First Ave., Clearfield, PA 16830 or to the Pine Grove Bethel Cemetery Association, 12 Carbon Mine Rd., Clearfield, PA 16830.
