UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State women’s golf team unveiled its 2012-13 schedule Wednesday (Aug. 15). The Nittany Lions will host one tournament at the Penn State Golf Courses this fall.
The women’s golf team opens the 2012-13 season at the Cougar Classic on Sept. 9-11 hosted by the College of Charleston. From there the team heads to New Haven, Conn., to play in the Yale Intercollegiate on Sept. 22-23. Penn State returns home on Sept. 28-30 to host the Nittany Lion Invitational. The Nittany Lions close out the fall schedule with trips to Knoxville, Tenn., for the Mercedes Benz Collegiate on Oct. 12-14, and Las Vegas, Nev., for the UNLV Invitational on Oct. 21-23.
The Nittany Lions return to action in the spring with a trip to Ireland on March 1-9. Following their return the team travels to Charleston, S.C. for the Briar’s Creek Invitational on March 25-26. The Nittany Lions close out the regular season playing in the Pinehurst Challenge on April 1-2 in Pinehurst, N.C., before visiting Big Ten foe Ohio State for the Lady Buckeye on April 20-21. The Big Ten Championships are set for April 26-28 in French Lick, Ind.
Head coach Denise St. Pierre returns nine players from the 2011-12 season and welcomes the addition of freshman Grace Chung (Ontario, Canada).
