PHILIPSBURG – The Philipsburg-based state police are continuing to probe a burglary at a South Front Street residence that occurred sometime between 6 a.m. July 29 and 9:30 p.m. Aug. 5 in Philipsburg Borough.
Someone entered a 62-year-old Philipsburg man’s residence and removed various rounds of ammunition and reloading supplies. Some reloading supplies were inside a .50-caliber ammunition box.
The suspect removed a red, three-drawer Craftsman toolbox, a gray metal Craftsman box and gray and brown plastic toolboxes, which contained various reloading supplies. Various “case and buck knives” were removed.
The victim also reported that approximately $1,000 in silver and gold coins were stolen as well as a gold Seiko watch and two diamond wedding rings. The total value of the stolen items has been set at $3,436, state police said.
The incident remains under investigation at this time.
