Lois Decker Peterman, 86, formerly of DuBois, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2012 at the DuBois Village.
Born April 24, 1926 in Charlton, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Evelyn (Smithgall) Decker.
Mrs. Peterman was a 1944 graduate of the Jersey Shore High School and worked for the Bell Telephone Company in Jersey Shore, Ross Florist and the Rolla Jensen Manufacturing Company in DuBois. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, cooking, crocheting, attending church activities and visiting with her extended family around the country.
She joined the DuBois First United Methodist Church in 1963 and was a member of the United Methodist Women, the Miriam Circle, the Vivian Brown Class and a participant in the Friends Who Care ministry of the church.
She married Bryan S. Peterman on Feb. 12, 1957. He preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 2005.
She is survived by three children, Scott Peterman of Pittsburgh, Jerri Giles (Nathan) of Mercer, Patti Maholtz (Dave) of DuBois and four grandchildren, Corey Giles, Philip Giles, Brandon Maholtz and Keith Maholtz and a sister, Gail Norman, of Montoursville.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Jean and brothers, Glenn and Dean and a grandson, Aaron Giles.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home of DuBois.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday with Pastor Ed Reich and the Rev. David Nagele officiating. Burial will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park in Reynoldsville.
