DUBOIS – The Westmoreland County business planning to move into DuBois City is not a methadone treatment center, according to a conversation between the DuBois mayor and a representative of the company.
Kathy Jones of RHJ Medical Center Inc. spoke with DuBois City Mayor John “Herm” Suplizio Monday prior to the DuBois City Council meeting.
In that conversation, she referred to the proposed location of RHJ at 994 Beaver Drive (behind Coldwell Banker) as an expansion of a medical assistance addiction treatment center.
GantDaily called RHJ more than one month ago, but Jones had no comment. Suplizio gave out Jones’ telephone number at the meeting and said the six reporters present should contact her. GantDaily will attempt to reach Jones on Tuesday.
DuBois residents will have an opportunity to ask their own questions of Jones in the near future. Jones plans to be at the next meeting of DuBois City Council, scheduled for Oct. 9 at 7 p.m.
“She can maybe answer some questions then,” said Suplizio.
“I told her she really needs to get up here and explain everything that’s going on.”
Suplizio did say Jones claimed that RHJ is different than Discovery House, the methadone treatment center currently located in Pike Township between Curwensville and Grampian.
“There’s a lot of unknowns now,” Suplizio said.
