Crystal Lauver Provencher, 44, was promoted to colonel as an Army Engineer officer on July 21, 2024.
Col. Provencher currently serves as a team chief for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency at Fort Belvoir, Va.
She is a June 2024 graduate of National Defense University’s Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy (Master of Science – National Resource Strategy, Weapons of Mass Destruction concentration).
She also holds a Master of Science degree in organization and management leadership from Capella University and a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Brigham Young University – Hawaii.
Col. Provencher’s previous assignments include battalion commander of the 478th Engineer Battalion (Fort Thomas, Ky.), and company commander of the 955th Engineer Company (Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.).
Col. Provencher is the daughter of Gary and Carol Lauver, and the granddaughter of the late Samuel and Arnoldine Copenhaver and the late Eddie and Berdie Lauver, all of Clearfield.
She is married to Lieutenant Colonel Michael Provencher (U.S. Space Force) and they have two children.
