Baumgratz is Dubois Historical Society Dinner Speaker

DUBOIS – Author James Bamgratz of St. Marys will be the guest speaker at the DuBois Area Historical Society’s annual dinner on Thursday, Sept. 19, at 6 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, Sunflower Drive, DuBois.

Baumgratz will replace the originally announced speaker, Dr. William R. Beckwith, who unfortunately, had to cancel.

Baumgratz is the author of six real crime books. He has been fascinated with true crime since his early teens and has devoted his writings to historic murder/mysteries that took place in the not-so-distant past.

His books include: Missing in the Pennsylvania Wilds, Elk County Murders and Mysterious Deaths: Volume I, Elk County Murders and Mysterious Deaths: Volume II, Elk County Murders and Mysterious Deaths: Volume III, and McKean County Murders & Mysterious Deaths: Volume I.

Cost per person for the dinner is $25. The menu includes: stuffed chicken breasts, meatloaf and gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, cabbage and noodles and salad.

Reservations are due by Sept. 16. Checks should be made payable to the DuBois Area Historical Society and sent to DuBois Area Historical Society, P. O. Box 401, DuBois, PA 15801.
