PHILIPSBURG – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced it has closed Route 322 between Bigler and Philipsburg due to a train derailment. PennDOT expects the closure to be in place for several hours.
Eastbound traffic heading toward Philipsburg is being diverted off Route 322 at Bigler and will follow a detour using Route 2030 (Bigler Cutoff Road) and Route 53 back to Route 322.
Westbound traffic heading toward Clearfield is being diverted off Route 322 at Ninth Street in Philipsburg and will follow Route 53 back to Route 322.
Route 53 in Chester Hill Borough is also closed due to the same train derailment. PennDOT has not implemented an official detour for this part of the closure. Local traffic should use alternate routes around it.
PennDOT will issue an updates as needed.
