Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) alerted drivers that it posted a weight restriction of 16 tons on a Route 2024 (Old Erie Pike) bridge spanning the David S. PennDOT posted this weight restriction following an inspection earlier this month. Before that inspection, PennDOT last evaluated the bridge in July 2023 and determined the bridge to be in fair condition.
This 98-foot structure, originally built in 1962, was rehabilitated in 2012. It carries an average of 742 vehicles daily.
