DuBOIS – Penn Highlands Healthcare welcomes surgeons Kathryn Fitzgerald, DO, and Matthew Denson, DO, to its medical staff.
Dr. Fitzgerald and Dr. Denson join the teams at Penn Highlands General Surgery, located at 815 Doctors Drive, 2nd Floor, in Clearfield and 271 Railroad Street in Philipsburg.
Dr. Fitzgerald and Dr. Denson have nearly two decades of combined experience. As general surgeons, they provide surgical treatment for a wide range of diseases and conditions affecting various parts of the body, including the abdomen, digestive tract, endocrine system, skin and blood vessels.
Common treatments and procedures include anorectal procedures to treat hemorrhoids; colon resection; excision of lesions, masses and skin cancer; gallbladder removal; insertion and removal of catheters/ports; laparoscopic/minimally invasive procedures; pilonidal disease; repair of abdominal wall/groin hernias; robotic surgery and small bowel procedures.
Prior to joining Penn Highlands, Dr. Fitzgerald and Dr. Denson practiced at Mohawk Valley Health System in Utica, N.Y., and Guthrie Cortland Regional Medical Center in Cortland, N.Y.
Dr. Fitzgerald and Dr. Denson are both graduates of Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Davie, Fla. They completed their residencies in general surgery at Carepoint Health Bayonne Medical Center in Bayonne, N.J.
