CURWENSVILLE – Curwensville is gearing up for one of its favorite and most delicious events, the sixth annual Blueberry Festival, set to take place on Saturday, July 20.
This year’s festival promises a day brimming with activities, local talent and community spirit, making it a must-attend event for families and visitors alike.
Morning Market: Curwensville Community Farmers Market
The festivities will kick off at the Curwensville Community Farmers Market, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Blue Kow parking lot, located at 987 Susquehanna Ave., Curwensville.
Visitors can enjoy fresh produce from local farms, unique crafts from artisans and live music performances under the market tent. Featured musicians include:
- 10:10 a.m. – 10:35 a.m.: Jen & Chloe Tubbs
- 10:45 a.m. – 11:10 a.m.: Leah Smay & Addi Warren
- 11:20 a.m. – 11:50 a.m.: Carrie Hatten & Sandy Buehler
- 12: p.m. – 12:20 p.m.: Jake Stiles & Harrison Bloom
- 12:30 p.m. – end of festival: Spencer Graham
- 12:50 p.m.: Final Festival Announcements & Pie Contest Reveal
Highlights of the morning market will also feature the Dunk Tank and Pie Baking Contest:
- Dunk Tank: Attendees can have fun trying to dunk local celebrities and community leaders. The dunk tank will be open throughout the morning, with all proceeds going towards Irvin Park recreation improvements.
- Pie Baking Contest: Bakers are invited to showcase their skills in the blueberry pie contest. Pies should be brought to the Blue Kow parking lot by 9 a.m. for judging, which will assess taste, appearance and creativity. Winners will be announced at 12:50 p.m., with prizes awarded.
Afternoon Event: Historical Discussion and Guided Tour
The Curwensville Historical Society will host a discussion of Native American history and culture entitled “We Are Still Here.” Historians and Native American scholars Jeanne Huffman and Linda Heberling, daughters of local historian and author Harry Matlack, will share their stories and showcase period clothing.
Talks will be held at the Bandshell at Irvin Park at 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., with a guided tour of the park taking place between sessions. This event provides a unique opportunity to learn about the rich history and culture of Native Americans in the area.
Evening Event: Music in the Park
As the day transitions into evening, Irvin Park in Curwensville, will host Music in the Park. Doors open at 5 p.m., with performances running from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Irvin Park Bandshell.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to bring their festival chairs, picnic items and families to enjoy an evening of music. Food and market vendors will be available, offering a variety of treats and goods.

- 6 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.: Bob Banerjee
- 6:45 p.m. – 7:20 p.m.: Dog Hair & Dust
- 7:35 p.m. – 8:15 p.m.: Sewerheads
- 8:30 p.m. – 9:15 p.m.: Hardtack
