CLARION COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) – An armed robbery suspect who managed to evade troopers in a pursuit across Clarion County has been captured.
On Sunday morning, May 26, Clarion-based State Police Communications Operator Steven Kostok told exploreClarion.com that 29-year-old Damean Michael Felmlee is in custody.
On Saturday evening local state police set up a staging area near Briar Hills Rustic Furniture located along State Route 36. Dozens of troopers searched throughout the Leeper area.
Police used a helicopter to assist in the search, but it was eventually called off due to the weather.
Felmlee was seen by the police and residents several times throughout the pursuit but continued to avoid being captured.
CPO Kostok said a full press release will be issued within 24 hours.
he Pennsylvania State Police began their search for Felmlee on Friday evening, May 24, after he evaded troopers in a pursuit across Clarion County. Felmlee reportedly crashed his vehicle near the intersection of Arnold Avenue and State Route 66 in Farmington Township, Clarion County, before fleeing on foot.
Following a May 6 robbery in Brady Township, Butler County, Butler-based State Police filed a series of charges against Felmlee, including robbery, burglary, theft, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, assault, terroristic threats, and multiple conspiracy charges.
The charges were officially brought forth by Trooper Codi Walker.
On Friday evening, Clarion-based State Police Corporal Jacob Beers issued a statement advising residents to exercise caution and remain indoors as Felmee was deemed armed and dangerous.
According to court documents, 53-year-old Herbert Dale Zellefrow Jr., of Rimersburg, has also been charged in the robbery case.
