PHILIPSBURG – The Moshannon Valley Economic Development Partnership recently held its 36th annual dinner event on May 2.
The event was held in the Philipsburg area at The View. The partnership was created in 1988 and annual dinner or luncheon events have been held every year since that date.
“We were pleased to host approximately 85 business leaders and owners, and a number of public officials at our dinner,” said Dustin Minarchick, president of the partnership’s board of directors.
Minarchick was the Master of Ceremonies at the dinner.
“Our dinner event provides a great opportunity for networking and gives the Partnership an opportunity to recognize people who are doing great things in the Moshannon Valley,” said Minarchick.
Guest speakers for the dinner included State Reps. Scott Conklin and Dallas Kephart.
“We were pleased to have both Scott and Dallas speak at the event which enabled our audience to get both the Democrat and Republican perspectives on state government,” said Minarchick.
Stan LaFuria, executive director of the partnership, was unable to attend the event, but he provided a written message to the attendees.
He identified some projects that are on the horizon including: the Graystone Court housing development, Moshannon Valley Emergency Medical Services new headquarters and training facility, the expansion of Advanced Powder Products and the proposed expansions of Diamondback Truck Covers and Organic Climbing.
Sponsors of the event included Charles Jones Insurance Agency, CNB Bank, First National Bank, Fulton Bank, Juniata Valley Bank, and Mid Penn Bank.
