DuBOIS, Pa. — Numerous members of the faculty and staff at Penn State DuBois were recently honored for their dedication to the campus during the annual length of service luncheon. A total of 17 faculty and staff members were recognized for reaching one of the five-year increment milestones as part of the campus community.
Jungwoo Ryoo, chancellor and chief academic officer, began by expressing his gratitude for everyone’s dedication to the campus. He also noted how each of the honorees have something in common, kindness and overwhelming efforts to see each student at the campus succeed, both in the classroom and outside of it. The expression of kindness, dedication and being part of a tight-knit community is something that was echoed by many of those recognized at the event.
“During my five years at Penn State DuBois, I have really valued how welcome my colleagues and students have made me feel,” said Sarah Pierotti, assistant professor of human development and family studies. “Seeing our students grow and flourish has been such a joy for me.”
“I’m beyond thankful and proud to be a part of this warm and welcoming campus community,” said Emily Zimmerman, reference and instruction librarian. “The guidance, support and camaraderie of my colleagues and friends has been invaluable in finding my place and purpose here on campus and in the library. I also want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to work with such incredible students.”
“I’ve really enjoyed watching students grow and find a career that aligns with their skills, passions and values,” said Jessica Clontz, assistant teaching professor of human development and family studies. “When alumni reach out to tell me they’ve found their niche or are excited about the work they are doing, my heart beams.
