CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Commissioners addressed various items of business at Tuesday’s board meeting.
The commissioners:
- approved an agreement with MESHACH Recovery Center Inc.
- proclaimed Feb. 7-14, 2024 as National Marriage Week.
- re-approved resolution 2024-#1 to participate in the Department of Transportation dotGrants program and associated agreement in order for it to reflect the correct date in the paperwork.
- approved a memorandum of understanding between North Central Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission for Chester Hill Borough’s “Reconnecting Our Communities Mobility Study.” It was noted that closure of the Presqueisle Street Bridge has really hindered the connectivity between Chester Hill and Philipsburg Boroughs, and Chester Hill—as a small municipality with a small tax base—lacks a “construction ready” project because it first needs a professional study done. Chester Hill has been awarded funds for this engineering work. These funds require an $8,000 match, which the county agreed to award from its American Rescue Plan dollars.
- re-appointed Jeannine Swisher to the Clearfield County Industrial Development Authority.
- appointed Chris Nausti to Clearfield Jefferson Regional Airport Authority.
- approved a lease agreement with Doing Better Business for a copier to be used in the Prothonotary’s office.
- approved its transportation plan with the Clearfield Area School District.
- approved the personnel report consisting offour new hires, including two corrections officers at the county jail.
- approved the minutes of the Jan. 9 board meeting as presented by the chief clerk.
- approved the bills as presented by the Controller’s office.
