SHARPSVILLE — The Curwensville Lady Tide and Clearfield Lady Bison competed on Saturday, January 20 in Sharpsville, PA and both teams brought home numerous placewinners.
Also, Curwensville placed second in the team standings in the 13-team tournament behind Saegertown.
Bringing home gold medals to Curwensville were Gabby Bamberger at 136, Tessa Queen at 142, and Jaidyn Sykes at 235. Silver medalists were Jordin Peoples at 100, Skylar Turner at 112, and Emily Neeper at 190. Savannah Carfley placed fourth at 136.
Makayla Taylor was the lone champion from Clearfield, while Ellie McBride took the silver. Bronze medalists were Aylee Johnston, Alara Quickel, Meredith Switala, and Taylor Blantz.
On the junior high level McKenzie Astorino placed first for the Lady Tide at 71 pounds, while Ali Dimmick at 96 and Allison Neeper at 148 each took fourth.
Clearfield’s Gabbie Duncan, Ashley Rougeux, and Finley Gilbert took home silver in junior high. Angela Rougeux placed third.
Clearfield will head to the Bald Eagle tourney next weekend and will then be joined by the Lady Tide at the P-O Lady Mountie tournament on February 3.
