CLEARFIELD – A Clearfield County Commissioner-elect has been charged for allegedly stealing a political sign on the eve of Election Day.
Timothy J. Winters, 57, of Hyde was charged by Clearfield Regional police Wednesday with misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, as well as one summary.
According to a department-issued news release, Winters stole a political sign at the Hyde Fire Hall around 11:30 p.m. Monday, and the crime was captured by surveillance video.
Online court documents indicate Winters is currently scheduled for a preliminary hearing at 9:45 a.m. Dec. 20 during centralized court at the Copper Cork Event Center, Clearfield.
