FRENCHVILLE – On the weekend of Oct. 20-22, Boy Scout Troop 9 members participated in a Wilderness Survival Campout near Frenchville.
Assistant Scoutmaster Scott McKenzie instructed the scouts about the contents of a survival kit, making shelter from natural materials, starting without matches or lighter and how to find and purify water.
The scouts slept in their shelters Saturday night despite the cold, rainy weather. This completes their Wilderness Survival Merit Badge with McKenzie.
