CLEARFIELD – A new Tesla Supercharger Station has opened at the Clearfield Burger King location on Route 879 just off the Interstate 80 interchange.
The new 10 stall Supercharger was originally approved for construction by the Lawrence Township Zoning Board in May and construction was completed at the Burger King location in September.
The new Tesla Supercharger Station will help Tesla drivers stay charged during their travels through central Pennsylvania. David Connaughton was charging his Tesla on his trip from New Hampshire.
He noted that the Supercharger Station recently showed on his Tesla app., which allows him to schedule his planned stops during his road trip.
This Supercharger Station is within a half-mile of the Interstate 80 and will help expand Tesla Supercharger network. Tesla Superchargers can charge at up to 250 kilowatts, adding as much as 200 miles of driving range in about 15 minutes.
Clearfield Burger King Property Manager Nick Sidorick stated, “We are happy to have the Supercharger Station at our location, and believe this station will help drive traffic to all the businesses off the exit.”
Tesla issued a statement, adding: “We are excited to share that the Clearfield Burger King is a new charging site in the Tesla Supercharger Network.
“The ongoing expansion of the network will ensure that Tesla owners in the Clearfield area are able to quickly and easily charge their vehicles when they’re not charging at home or work.”
Connaughton, who belongs to a Tesla owners Club in New England, was happy to be the first members of his club to use this location. “This gives me a little bragging right in my group,” he joked.
