According to a post on her campaign’s Facebook page, Battista was placing campaign yard signs in the ground on Sunday evening, October 22, when she was struck by an oncoming vehicle.
Battista was hospitalized and treated for minor injuries, including a hair-line fracture of her clavicle, the post stated.
Battista was released from the hospital on Monday, October 23, and is “doing well,” according to her campaign.
The campaign did not disclose where the incident occurred.
According to a Facebook post, Battista was campaigning in Harrisburg on Sunday morning prior to the accident.
On Wednesday, October 25, Battista managed to hit the campaign trail again with a visit to Wayne County.
Battista is a Knox native and a graduate of Keystone High School and Clarion University.
She was endorsed for one of two open seats on the Superior Court in this year’s election, which will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Jacqueline Shogan in 2022, as well as the vacancy that will be created when Judge John T. Bender reaches the mandatory retirement age of 75 in November.
