Mid Penn Bank, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mid Penn Bancorp Inc., is proud to announce its continued partnership with the PA Breast Cancer Coalition.

On Oct. 17, Mid Penn Bank President/Chief Executive Officer and PBCC Board Member Rory Ritrievi attended the organization’s 30th anniversary conference and presented PBCC with a $100,000 donation from funds raised by the 2023 Mid Penn Bank Celebrity Golf Classic, which took place in July.

The conference began with a Pink Party on Monday evening to celebrate cancer survivors and PBCC grassroots partners. The organization awarded the Mid Penn Bank Shining Light Award to ‘Rally Fore the Cure’.

The Mid Penn Bank Shining Light Award is presented annually for community grassroots leadership in the field of breast cancer research, education, outreach and advocacy.

Since 2018, ‘Rally Fore the Cure’ has raised $110,000 for the PA Breast Cancer Coalition.

“In Pennsylvania, 38 women are diagnosed with breast cancer daily. The PA Breast Cancer Coalition works tirelessly to find a cure for this deadly disease and to improve the lives of women in PA living with breast cancer,” Ritrievi said.

“I could not be more proud to serve on the board of this wonderful organization and to support its mission and work, which, ultimately, is to find a cure for breast cancer now so that our daughters don’t have to.”

To support their mission, the PBCC has contributed nearly $5 million to researchers in Pennsylvania and has advocated for legislation that would provide screening and treatment to women with breast cancer. It also provides support and resources to newly diagnosed women.

“We are honored to have Mid Penn Bank as a partner in our fight against breast cancer. This gift will help us continue to fund breast cancer research and to advocate for women,” PBCC President and Founder Pat Halpin-Murphy said. “We are truly grateful for Mid Penn Bank and its continued support.”

This is the eighth year that the Bank has raised money for the PBCC through its annual Celebrity Golf Classic. This year, the fundraiser brought together more than 60 celebrities and sponsors passionate about raising awareness and advocating for increased funding for research, legislative advocacy and high-quality screening, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.
