Clearfield Regional
- Police received a report of an assault in progress Aug. 12 at a Clearfield event center. According to a department-issued news release, 30-plus people were fighting and police were needed on-scene. Upon arrival, 37-year-old male was still actively engaged and taken into custody on simple assault and related charges.
- Police received a report of DUI on Aug. 12 on West Fifth Avenue in Clearfield. According to a department-issued news release, there was a vehicle parked in the middle of the roadway blocking traffic and playing loud music. On-scene police located a 43-year-old male slumped over the steering wheel and passed out. DUI and related charges were filed through the district court.
- Police received a report of DUI on Aug. 12 on Nichols Street in Clearfield. According to a department-issued news release, information was received regarding a male passed out in a vehicle. Upon arrival and further investigation, he was suspected of being under the influence of controlled substances. He was subsequently taken to Penn Highlands Clearfield for a legal blood draw. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- Police received a report about a vehicle crash Aug. 9 on Mann Road in Clearfield. According to a department-issued news release, there was a gray-colored Ford Fusion parked at the entrance to Hidden Valley Speedway. It had front-end and passenger-side damage; however, there was no driver on-scene. Upon investigation, it was found the vehicle had left the roadway and struck a mailbox. Then, it continued traveling through some small trees along the roadway. Police have been able to identify the driver and charges are pending at this time.
