MONROE TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Authorities arrested a man who reportedly stole items from two Walmart stores in Clarion and Clearfield Counties.
Court records show Clarion-based State Police filed criminal charges against 24-year-old Kameron Elliot Traeye-Jameson, of Flint, MI, on Monday, August 7, in Magisterial District Judge Timothy P. Schill’s office.
According to a criminal complaint, Clarion-based State Police were dispatched to Walmart in Monroe Township, Clarion County, for a report of an attempted theft around 4:45 p.m. on Sunday, August 6.
Police received a description of the actor from the Asset Protection Manager and that he had just left the store in a gray Toyota Camry bearing Michigan registration, the complaint states.
Responding troopers observed this vehicle entering Interstate 80 westbound at Exit 62. A trooper got behind the described vehicle and a traffic stop was conducted at the Jiffy Gas Station. The trooper approached the driver’s side of the vehicle and requested the operator’s driver’s license, the complaint indicates.
The actor was identified as Kameron Elliot Traeye-Jameson via his Michigan driver’s license and he matched the description given by the Asset Protection Manager, the complaint notes.
The trooper informed him he was being stopped for a theft that occurred at the Clearfield Walmart store and also an attempted theft that occurred at the Clarion Walmart store, the complaint states.
Traeye-Jameson admitted he was previously at both of those stores but he did not commit any crimes at either, the complaint indicates.
Police conducted an interview with the Clarion Walmart Asset Protection Manager, who related that Traeye-Jameson approached a checkout line and had a reloadable gift card that was empty and attempted to obtain $450.00 in cash from the store clerk, the complaint notes.
The Asset Protection Manager observed through his system that Traeye-Jameson just committed a theft under similar circumstances at the Clearfield Walmart store. One of the Store Managers was advised to report to the checkout line and advise Traeye-Jameson that they aren’t able to complete his transaction. As the manager approached, Traeye-Jameson left the store, the complaint states.
Through the investigation, it was revealed that Traeye-Jameson had stolen an Elvie breast pump from the Clearfield store. Troopers observed an unopened Elvie breast pump in the back seat of Traeye-Jameson’s vehicle. This item was collected and entered into evidence, the complaint indicates.
Traeye-Jameson was arraigned at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 6, on the following charges in front of District Judge Jeffrey Miller:
- Criminal Attempt – Theft By Deception-Fail To Correct, Misdemeanor 1
- Receiving Stolen Property, Misdemeanor 1
Unable to post $15,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Clarion County Jail.
A preliminary hearing is set for Tuesday, August 22, at 10:45 a.m. with Judge Schill presiding.
