CLEARFIELD – Full-time Practical Nursing students, Nora Campbell and Christine Cupp, were nominated for the June 2023 Sunflower Award at the Clearfield County Career & Technology Center.
Nora was nominated anonymously and Christine was nominated by classmate Cheyanne Higgins. They are being recognized for their strengths in going above and beyond expectations in the care of her patients, support to fellow students, facility members or communities.
The sunflower was chosen as it represents happiness, optimism, honesty, longevity, peace, admiration and devotion.
The sunflower surpasses all others in terms of its universal power to bring people joy – all qualities future nurses hope to possess and show to their patients.
The student is nominated by fellow students, patients, instructors or anyone who has been touched and inspired by their work, kindness, compassion and dedication.
This was said about Nora in her nomination: “She is extremely caring about her patients and is always willing to help someone with anything. Nora is never afraid to ask anyone questions, including doctors and nurses. I think Nora will make a very kind nurse.”
Cheyanne had this to say about Christine in her nomination: “Christine is caring, kind and respectful to her patients. She is a great example of what a great nurse would be. I look up to her in many ways in the classroom and at clinical.”
