CLEARFIELD – Clearfield Municipal Authority Manager John Williams reported Tuesday that CMA has submitted the proper paperwork to seek grant funding that would hopefully offset the cost of new flow meters and a new sewer vac truck.
With the current supply chain issues, Williams said the authority is still waiting on a small dump truck that they ordered last June.
Following state Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) approval of the study of Montgomery Membrane Filtration Upgrade, a conference was held with Pall Corp. on March 2 to discuss the details of the installation of pilot study equipment.
The equipment will be shipped out on March 28, and it should arrive at the Montgomery Plant on Tuesday, March 29.
The water authority is hopeful the set up will only take a few days and hopes it can begin operation on April 1. The study will then operate for three months until the beginning of July.
There was one Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) event in Hyde this month that lasted 11 hours with a total estimated flow of 307,000 gallons.
The authority met with DEP in Williamsport on March 1 to discuss the authority’s plans once the takeover of the borough and township systems is finalized. DEP agreed to give the authority time to evaluate the township and borough systems.
Regarding the takeover, the board voted to acquire a new loan from CNB Bank to help with finalizing the acquisition of Lawrence Township’s sewer system.
The authority briefly discussed plans to evaluate Lift Station No. 1, located behind CVS. Its force main is in poor condition and could stand to be replaced.
They decided to have their engineer come up with a concept plan for the lift station for next month’s meeting.
