PHILIPSBURG —There is nothing like a hot breakfast on a cold day in March, and now you can enjoy your breakfast knowing you are also helping your community.
The Kiwanis of Philipsburg will be holding its annual pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. March 19. Breakfast will include three pancakes, four sausage links and orange juice for just $5.
Thanks to sponsors, kids will eat free. Tickets can be purchased from any Kiwanis member at the CenClear office in Philipsburg or the day of, if meals are still available.
This year’s breakfast will be provided as a drive-thru, and be held at the CenClear office in Philipsburg, located next to True Value on U.S. Route 322, at 1633 Philipsburg-Bigler Hwy.
Last year, the Kiwanis served over 530 breakfasts to hungry patrons.
Why Serve Pancakes?
In addition to serving the community by providing an affordable hot breakfast, the impact of the pancake breakfast is felt throughout the community, as well.
The funds raised by the Kiwanis is distributed to local organizations, such as the YMCA, Holt Library, Moshannon Valley EMS, Trinity Methodist Church Shoe Bank, Osceola Mills Food Bank, Clear-Centre Pool and so many more.
About the Kiwanis
The Kiwanis empowers communities to improve the world by making lasting differences in the lives of children. The Kiwanis Club fulfills the Kiwanis’ mission through community service projects; it brings this mission to life through fundraisers like the pancake breakfast.
Other fundraisers include a rose sale, a golf outing and an annual chicken barbecue. The Kiwanis is also about service.
Each year, the club helps make its community a better place to live through the Annual Black Moshannon Road clean-up, and by hosting blood screenings.
