DUBOIS – Sandy Township plans to seek grant funds through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s Gaming Fund.
If approved, funds will be used to extend the sewer line to the remainder of Industrial Drive. It’s the third time the township has applied for this funding through DCED.
Additionally, the township is working on bolt replacement on underground line valves, and according to Engineer Mike Haynes, 17 or 18 remain.
The township has been conducting bolt replacement when breakage occurs or during other projects with the use of American Rescue Act Funds.
The supervisors reported that a new stoplight control system will be tested at the intersection of Maple and Shaffer avenues, as a demonstration for Sandy Township and possibly DuBois City.
The system uses radar and video rather than magnetic loops in roads to determine if vehicles are waiting at stoplights. It can also be used for traffic counts and video logs.
