State police at Clearfield
- State police reported that a ring was found Feb. 20 along Woodland – Bigler Highway in Bradford Township. Anyone with information may contact state police at 814-857-3800.
- State police received a report of theft Feb. 18 on Maple Street in Cooper Township. During the incident, someone allegedly removed $2,313 from the victim’s bank account. The investigation is ongoing.
- State police received a report of retail theft Feb. 18 at Snappy’s Convenience Store in Curwensville Borough. During the incident, a 42-year-old Curwensville man used the rear entrance and allegedly stole a case of Twisted Tea. Charges have been filed through the district court.
- State police received a report of identity theft Feb. 18 in Gulich Township. During the incident, someone allegedly used the victim’s identity for a false claim for unemployment benefits. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-857-3800.
- State police received a report of identity theft Feb. 17 in Chester Hill Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly used the victim’s identity as part of an investment company to open an account.
- State police reported a drug violation occurred Feb. 15 on Rockton Mountain Highway in Pine Township. During a regulatory checkpoint, an individual was arrested for drug possession. Charges are currently pending at this time.
Lawrence Township
- Police reported a DUI occurred Feb. 19 in the area of Coal Hill and Riverview Roads in Lawrence Township. Upon arrival on-scene, officers found a male passed out and using his steering wheel as a pillow. He was allegedly found to be under the influence and released to a sober adult. Charges were filed through the district court.
- Police received a report of indecent assault/corruption of minors Feb. 8 at a Clearfield residence. Upon investigation, it was found that 35-year-old Zachary Hess had inappropriately touched a juvenile victim. Additionally, it was found that Hess and 33-year-old Christina Flynn also exposed three minors to drugs, allowed two minors to drive with other children in the vehicle and left a young child at home alone with a knife for protection against intruders.
- Police reported a firearms purchase violation occurred Nov. 13, 2020 at Walmart in Lawrence Township. Upon investigation, it was discovered that Cassandra Witherite of Hawk Run was allegedly not eligible to purchase a firearm but had lied on her application, which was denied. Charges were filed through the district court.
Curwensville Borough
- Police received a report of trespassing at a George Street residence. Upon arrival, no one was located on-scene.
- Police handled an incident of reported trespassing at Irvin Park.
- Police were dispatched to a School Street residence for an alleged physical domestic. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- Police were dispatched to a mental health incident at the Curwensville Commons. According to police, a juvenile was armed with a knife and posed a danger to him/herself and others. Upon arrival on-scene, police helped deescalate the situation, the juvenile was taken into custody and to the hospital for evaluation.
- Police received a report of suspicious persons at a Walnut Street residence. Upon arrival, it was found that two people had active warrants; both were taken into custody. One person was transported to Clearfield County Jail after drugs and drug paraphernalia were allegedly found on his person. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- Police handled a call regarding a mental health crisis at the Curwensville High School.
- Police assisted fire and emergency personnel with a water rescue at Curwensville Dam.
- Police assisted Bigler Township Regional Police with an incident regarding harassment.
