CLEARFIELD – A Curwensville man is behind bars following a police pursuit Monday afternoon in Lawrence Township.
According to a department-issued news release, an officer attempted a traffic stop for an equipment violation at 2:08 p.m. along state Route 879.
However, the driver, later identified as 25-year-old Tanner Alley, started to accelerate and a pursuit ensued onto Interstate 80 east. The pursuit reportedly reached speeds of 120 miles per hour.
Alley eventually pulled over, and was taken into custody. His passengers were also identified as Joanne Greendoner, 47, of DuBois, Apryl Knode, 32, of DuBois and a known male.
Through the course of investigation, police obtained consent to search the vehicle and belongings, resulting in the alleged discovery of crystal methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
It was found Alley had a suspended license (DUI-related), numerous warrants and was suspected of being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Alley was transported for a legal blood draw, then housed in Clearfield County Jail. Greendoner and Knode were on probation and also housed in county jail.
Alley is charged with felony fleeing/eluding police, misdemeanor reckless endangerment, DUI/controlled substance and use/possession of drug paraphernalia and related traffic offenses.
Knode and Greendoner are charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and use/possession of drug paraphernalia. All three cases are pending preliminary hearings.
