SANDY TOWNSHIP – A devastating, second-alarm fire broke out Monday at The Inn at Narrows Creek in Sandy Township.
The fire first broke out in the garage before spreading to the inn, WJAC-TV reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The call was received at approximately 11:56 a.m., and firefighters operated on-scene for several hours.
State Route 255 north was also shut down between Interstate 80 and the Treasure Lake area, as crews fought the flames.
Oklahoma, Adrian Sandy, West Sandy Hose, North Point Station 39, Fire-Rescue 41, Union Township, Sykesville, JE DuBois Hose and Fourth Ward Hose fire companies responded to the call.
Members of Amserv LTD DuSan Community Ambulance as well as the Sandy Township Police Department also assisted crews on-scene.
According to the business’ official Web site, The Inn at Narrows Creek offered some of the finest accommodations in central Pennsylvania.
Built and opened in 1998 as a bed and breakfast, the Inn was a “recreation of an 18th century New England country inn and tavern.”
The Inn at Narrows Creek was also recognized by a national publication as one of the 15 finest bed and breakfasts in North America.
