CLEARFIELD – A resident of Tomorrow’s Hope in Coalport pleaded guilty Monday for possessing child pornography.
Chad Alan Peters, 40, was sentenced by Judge Paul E. Cherry to serve 18 months to three years in state prison on each of two felony counts of child pornography, which gives him a total sentence of three to six years.
He was ordered to complete sex offender counseling and he must register with law enforcement under Megan’s Law.
It was also noted that he is not to have any unsupervised contact with anyone under 18-years-old.
The new sentence will run consecutive to his current parole violation sentence.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, police were contacted by a state parole agent who had received information that Peters was in possession of pornographic images of children.
When the agent visited Peters where he was staying at Tomorrow’s Hope, he received consent to search Peters’ phone. He discovered naked pictures of young girls on the device.
Peters was on state parole for a previous fleeing or attempting to elude police case from 2019.
